North Star Ultra – Reduced Overall Distance

When we released the North Star Ultra we had a long debate about what the total distance should be.  In my eyes each of the five legs would be done only once with the north leg being the last option.  In Andy Clark’s he wanted the mythical 200 mile mark to be the headline figure.  After speaking to many ultra runners it was clear that 200 miles was a great idea but not achievable in the time frame available.  Even 170 miles will be a tough shift for teams never mind anyone on a solo mission.  The end result is we’re sticking with the original idea of 170 miles for the maiden event on 13th June and will evaluate after that.
