SCOTT Winter Wipeout – EARLY BIRD
We’re delighted to announce that entries for the SCOTT Winter Wipeout set for Saturday 10th Jan are now open for sale at a bargain rate of £25 until the end of January. We look forward to another punishing winter half marathon in the Cheviots with the joy of seeing what the weather throws up for us all this time. Links can be found below:

We took some feedback from the runners at the last event and we were very grateful that they took time out of their busy schedule to let us know their preferences to shape the event in the future. The majority of people surveyed said they preferred the run to be on a Saturday rather than a Sunday. The feeling was that is freed up the rest of the weekend for other things. For us it means trying to set up on a Friday but we never really considered the bonus that is clearing up in a relatively sedate fashion the next day so it works really well. In previous years we’ve hummed and harred about the mug. Do people want them? Are they worth the hassle of procurement? Is the soup well received? It turns out that people love the mug and soup combo as it compliments dragging a cold body through a freezing river quite nicely. The last item that came across was a structured early bird pricing policy so we’ve implemented that with a very low price for the next few weeks before stepping in Feb and then nearer the event for the late entrants.
You may have also clocked from the title that the great people at SCOTT Sports are supporting the event so you can expect to see Michelle and co on scene to watch you suffer/enjoy. In fact she was on Cunyan Crags last time out and provided cheery motivation to keep everyone going. The UK arm of SCOTT are based in the north east and provide a great fit for our runs which are typically quite tough and testing.
